Garwood on party night. drive your dad's 56 ford for a late night romp .

  1. John, I can't tell if that is my 56 Ford that I had back then at the mansion or not. Mine was white with baby moons for hub caps and white walls. , Black tuck and roll naugahyde interior including the ceiling! A 6 cylinder 3 speed manual with overdrive. It quit running, so I parked it outside the front gate. 3 days later, it got stolen! Have mercy! Broke my heart!

  2. John, are you still following this blog? My grandfather worked for Gar Wood from 1937-45. I only have one photo of the building he worked in at the other end, near the bridge. It had his office and a two lane bowling alley in it and looked like a concrete bunker- see https://flic.kr/p/rDeWit
    I'd appreciate any info you'd have on that end of the island- Paul Rentz, prentz2@comcast.net
